Do you have a parent that was born in canada?

If your mother or father was born or naturalized in Canada you may be a citizen! Under a recent amendment to Canada’s Citizenship Act, almost all persons who have a parent born or naturalized in Canada are now Canadian citizens. This new law applies to the first born generation abroad.
